Commuters of Burbank – Sal Montes De Oca

This month’s super-star commuter… Sal!

Burbank commuters come in all kinds. People bike, walk, bus, scoot, carpool, vanpool and drive. This series is intended to share the stories of commuters who demonstrate it’s possible to get to work without driving alone!

This month’s commuter is Sal Montes De Oca! Sal is an employee of Burbank’s very own Warner Bros. A “fully integrated, broad-based entertainment company and a global leader in the creation, production, distribution, licensing and marketing of all forms of entertainment and their related businesses.”

How do you get to work on a typical day?
My vanpoolers and I are fortunate to take advantage of the Enterprise Ride Share program where we use a vehicle provided for us to commute to and from work each day.

What is the best part of your commute?
The best part of our commute is getting to enjoy the ride to work as passengers and not having the stresses of driving each day.

What/who compelled you to begin commuting this way?
After realizing the wear and tear on my personal car and learning of other colleagues who experienced the same feelings, a group of us who reside in the same area decided to learn more about the Enterprise Ride Share program and give it a try which turned out to be a great option for us.

Do you have any interesting commute stories you’d like to share?
Yes, my vanpoolers and I ride an average of three hours together each day and that time together has brought us close. We are a family now and it’s a great experience to have.

Are there any commuting tips that you’d like to share with people working near you?
Yes! You and your riders are a team – support each other. When we hit traffic there’s always someone checking Waze for the best detour or when we need gas there’s always someone looking for the closest station.
